Rationale for Online Service

In 2006, the federal government legislated "voluntary student unionism" into law and as a result student organisations across Australia were forced to downsize dramatically due to huge decreases in funding, lack of space, inefficient or expensive programs, uncertainty of retail ventures and other difficulties.

Every student organisation in the country has been faced with this major question - how can we provide all of our former services and still keep them viable and useful to our student members with about 20% of the income?

Our solution to our second hand textbook issue was to provide an online forum instead of an onsite location due to lack of available space. This worked quite well in 2007, and again in 1st semester 2008. We have been working diligently over the winter hols revamping our website to provide you with an even better online service so that you can buy, sell and trade your own second hand textbooks directly with other students.
